UN40F6300 40-Inch Slim Tv

UN40F6300 40-Inch Slim Tv

This TV is not sold in Canada. So i had to buy it off Amazon. I am using it for my PC monitor and gaming TV and its the best display for this purpose. It has very good processing power for high motion and an excellent response time for fast paced gaming. Its too bad these are not sold in Canadian stores as its the best 32 inch TV you can get.

I had tried the high end Sony 32' tv that claimed 120hz and it was garbage compared to this Samsung (for the same price).

This tv is for gamers and is the best display you can hook up to your PC. Do not buy a 60hz tv if you want something for a computer/gaming display. Get the UN32F6300 or better. The extra money spent is well worth it.

Slim 40-Inch 1080p 60Hz LED HDTV

Slim 40-Inch 1080p 60Hz LED HDTV

Slim 40-Inch 1080p 60Hz LED HDTV

I really love this TV. This is my first flat screen TV. I did a lot of homework before zeroing on this TV.

I purchased it based on the following features:
- It is a smart HDTV, LED - 60Hz and this year's model available at considerably better price as compared to even last year models with similar features. Though, I would have been very happy if I could have closed the deal at $ 650 :-p

I did see the earlier reviews for this TV but most seemed like user training issues.

The sound/picture quality is excellent. Picture quality will seem dull with the eco friendly setting of Standard. However, it is configurable per your liking and the user manual is very effective in identifying and setting up your needs. 3 HDMI + 2 USB available

Setting up Network/WI FI is also very easy.

Depending on Internet speed, the smart TV works good. Youtube videos does not stream so fast for me directly through the TV but when I connect to my laptop through HDMI, it just works fine.

Movies through Netflix are great. No 3D but I did not want it. The LED TV comparison chart that Amazon provides is very helpful in determining what features you need and what you do not need.

The Kids stories is very useful for my 3 yr old son. Recently saw our first 1080p HD movie "Journey to the center of the earth" and it was GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Movie files with .vob,.avi and .wmv works perfect. I have not tried others yet. Even, if some do not work, there are many sites where we have converters available. So this is not a big deal too.

On the whole, it is a great TV with very good features. Its a good tradeoff between the basic models this year and the higher end versions which made it attractive for me. I did not have to settle for a lower less feature version nor wanted to go for umpteen number of features with a higher version costing above 1000 bucks.

E320i-A0 32-inch Slim Tv

E320i-A0 32-inch Slim Tv

E320i-A0 32-inch Slim Tv

After reading all the reviews of the various TVs in this size range, I picked this one. I am very glad so far that I did. There was a minor issue the first couple of days in which I would get a No Signal message and the screen would go blank for maybe 3 seconds. It would do this at random. The second I sent an email to Vizio about the issue. Got a response in just about an hour. Their recommendation was to unplug plug everything, all the connection cables and the power cable. Then press and hold the on off button for about thirty seconds, before reconnecting everything. That did the trick, the problem has not recurred since the fix was done.

I like the style, and though the remote is small and does not have a qwerty keyboard ( a minor annoyance) it i does work well and is reasonably easy to navigate through the menus. The colors are vibrant and after going through all the settings and then making my own custom settings, I am quite pleased with the picture quality. I do not use the TVs speakers since I connect it directly to the home theater sound system so I cannot really comment on that feature, though I have never really heard any TV speakers that sound all that good, especially when compared to a good sound system. I read a few comments about the stand that comes with the system. Some said they did not think it was not a secure as it might be. I find the stand to be more than sufficient to handle the set with no problem.

I was a little leery of the Vizio brand since I had heard of it but had never really know anyone who owned one, but I decided for the price and features that I would take the chance and I am very pleased with the TV and the support from Vizio. Great TV - Great price and so far great support. I t was delivered on time, and it well packed and the packaging was Eco friendly for the most part. Rather than using styrofoam peanuts they used cardboard chips. There is styrofoam they use for packing but not as much as some set sets that I have seen. I don't think you can wrong with this set.

Slim 22-Inch 1080p 60Hz Slim LED HDTV

Slim 22-Inch 1080p 60Hz Slim LED HDTV

Slim 22-Inch 1080p 60Hz Slim LED HDTV

I was ready to purchase the `12 model year Samsung 5000 series TV when I found out that this updated model was available. My local big box stores did not have the F5000 series in stock yet so I had to take a chance on this set and buy it sight unseen.

I would rate myself as a fairly knowledgeable user, and a very picky one at that. I read AV forums online and I constantly tinker with my TVs to get the best picture possible out of them. I am very glad that I waited to get this new '13 model, as the quality and features are substantially improved.

For starters, comparing this model side by side with the older Samsung EH5000 models, the first thing you will notice is how much thinner the F5000 is. At 1.9" thick, it's almost as thin as any LCD TV gets; and its roughly half as thick as the prior model. The 2" difference really matters, especially for those of you who will be wall mounting the TV. With a low profile mount, the TV is about as flat as one could expect to get.

Appearance-wise, the F5000 is a stunning looking TV. The bezel is ultra-thin and glossy black. The bezel bows down slightly in the bottom center of the TV to show off the Samsung logo. Compared to another same size Samsung LCD in our house that is just three years older, the F5000 looks futuristic and sleek. I love the design direction that they have taken in 2013.

But all this means nothing if the TV isn't just as fantastic from a performance standpoint. Luckily, the function is well matched to the form.

The first thing I checked after getting my TV mounted to the wall was the evenness of the backlight. Our previous non-LED Samsung had a slight "flashlight" effect to it. When looking at an all black screen, you could see noticeable bright spots, especially near the corners.

Slim Tv UN46F6300 46-Inch

Slim Tv  UN46F6300 46-Inch

Slim Tv  UN46F6300 46-Inch

My background: Art major, pro photographer, highend home audio/stereo veteran, home-theater veteran (sort of). Owned a couple of front projectors over the last decade, currently without one...still have a very large 2.35:1 Da-Lite high gain screen. I don't play video games. I mostly watch 1080i "hdtv" broadcasts, or else blu rays via a slightly old player. All connected with silver-plated HDMI cable (yes it does make a big difference...and this cable did not cost very much, either).

With the above in mind, most of my review is about my personal journey, and my perception of the tv, regarding image quality. I've not begun to dig into many of the "smart tv" features. They do seem to work fine, though. Would work better with a keyboard. Also my internet connection is not the fastest.

I've had this 46F6300 tv nearly a month. I had tried the 40 inch 5000 series, but returned it (it had the "sharp" panel, and it just plain sucked...Thankfully, this particular 46F6300 only comes with the Samsung panel, so you can order one from anywhere and not have to worry about the Samsung "panel lottery"). Having spent a lot of money on new camera equipment over the last 6 months, amongst other things...I wanted to see if I could live with spending a minimum amount of cash on a tv. It turns out, I could not. And 40 inches is smaller than two people can comfortably watch anyway. Sitting 12 feet away from any 1080p tv smaller than 80 inches, is a waste of pixels in my opinion...so I sit much closer. But sitting closer means there's barely room for two people...at least on the front row.

After some extra research, and joining AVS forum (a few debates on another forum)...and several visits to local tv showrooms, I concluded this F6300 would suit me.

E470i-A0 47-inch Slim Tv Led

E470i-A0 47-inch Slim Tv Led

E470i-A0 47-inch Slim Tv Led

To start with, for the money I paid for this TV (on sale for $429), I'd probably buy it again.
Pros: The picture looks great in general, but I'd recommend playing around with the settings until you're satisfied. Compared to my last piece of crap TV, the sound is actually pretty great. The app selection is fairly small, but it has most of the staples - Netflix, Hulu Plus (if you like commercials), Pandora, Amazon Prime, and a bunch of those online movie stores everyone keeps pushing. It also has DLNA capability, which I haven't used since it froze up on me the first time I tried it. 4 HDMI inputs is also a big plus.

Cons: Even though it says 120hz, it really isn't. I've scoured the menus and the manuals looking for the Smooth Motion setting, but it just isn't there. I'm fairly sure they just skipped it for this model. I'm not a huge fan of the soap opera effect, but I don't really mind it. I DO mind this TV being labeled 120hz when it clearly is just a 60hz TV.

As many others have pointed out, this set has great picture quality. However, you will really have to work at it. Out of the box the picture looked awful and I was ready to return this set. Then I was lucky enough to find a review by "Gordon" for the Samsung UN32EH5000. I used the exact settings he specified and now the picture looks great. His settings are:

Mode: Dynamic
Backlight: 18
Contrast: 85
Brightness: 50
Sharpness: 80
Color: 70
TInt: G/R 50/50
Standard color tone with screen fit in the additional options, with HDMI black level set to low.

500i-A1 50-inch Slim LED Smart HDTV

500i-A1 50-inch Slim LED Smart HDTV

500i-A1 50-inch Slim LED Smart HDTV

Size Name:60-Inch
PROS
- Big and bright; nice color; matte screen for bright rooms
- 4 HDMI inputs
- Thin and very attractive minimalist glossy black frame (less than 1" wide)
- Built-in WiFi and DLNA; most of the popular subscription-based smart apps
- Great value

CONS
- High LCD panel failure rate (On 2/8/2013, Vizio publicly acknowledged this and is addressing the problem. See below for details.)
- Severe audio-video sync problems (In mid-January 2013, Vizio released a firmware update to fix this issue. See below for details.)
- Still some glare in bright room
- Takes about 18 seconds to "boot up" from power on
- Only one shared composite/component input for older devices
- Slightly gray blacks and somewhat uneven back-lighting, although this likely varies between individual units
- DLNA and smart-app implementations are very crude (you are probably better off getting a dedicated device to do these, like a Roku or Apple TV)
- Ports hard to access on back, which is particularly a problem for the USB port, if you want to plug and unplug (somewhat inherent in thin flat-panel TVs)

LCD PANEL FAILURE ISSUE

Many owners, including me, were reporting a problem where the image would disappear but the backlight and sound would remain on. This required full replacement of the TV. On 2/8/2013, Vizio acknowledged this problem in a "special bulletin" revealing that a bad batch of chips were installed in units with serial numbers ranging from LFTRNWAN3800001 to LFTRNWAN4805300. It also affects a range of the 70" E701i-A3 models. Vizio extended the warranty from one to two years for that specific problem.

LED Smart HDTV 60 Slim LED TV

LED Smart HDTV 60 Slim LED TV

LED Smart HDTV 60 Slim LED TV

I had been patiently waiting for this TV to become available via Amazon, mainly because of the unbelievably low price and good review given on CNET, but got tired of waiting and ended up purchasing this TV on 10/13 from Costco. They had just gotten a shipment in that day and once I saw it in the store, I knew I needed to get it. CNET had mentioned that the off angle viewing was not as good on this set when compared to LEDs from other manufacturers, but I haven't had any problems viewing this TV even from extreme angles. The TV was not quite as bright as the LG next to it at the store, but I believe this was mainly due to the matte finish of the screen. The LG had a glossy screen which made the picture very bright, but it also reflected literally everything behind it. My TV is now set up in a very sunny living room and the glare is minimal. Much better than the 37 inch Sharp LCD it replaced. For those looking for a basement TV, a glossy TV or a plasma might be the way to go, but for me, the matte finish was the best option. The TV has an extremely thin bezel which I really appreciated because it allowed me to get a 60 inch screen size out of a TV that takes up the same space as many 55 inch units. Out of the box, the colors were pretty good, but I am still hoping to find detailed color settings posted by CNET or elsewhere. If anyone has a good link, please share :) The smart features work reasonably well. Amazon Prime and Netflix both ran just fine. My only complaint so far is with the Amazon Prime interface. It is very paired down when compared to the version offered over my PS3 and it took a long time to browse titles. If you know what movie you want though, you can simply use the search function. So I took the plunge and finally upgraded my bedroom TV to a Flat Panel Samsung LED 720p 32" (Model UN32EH4003). I bought it during the Black Friday time frame directly from Amazon for $247.99 (Free Shipping, 14-Day Price Guarantee). I went in knowing that I was buying the cheapest 32" Samsung Flat Panel that you could buy and knew that I wasn't getting every bell and whistle, which is fine with me. My goal for this TV is to use it as a bedroom TV with a Verizon FIOS cable box and a media player (Ethernet connected, not WiFi) and watch it from about 8 feet away. No gaming, minimal DVD, etc. That's basically it.

Just for some background, I'm upgrading from an old 20" Generic Tube TV in the bedroom. I do have an HDTV in the living room, but it is also a Tube TV. There I have a 34" Sony widescreen Tube TV that I bought about 7 years ago that was basically the biggest widescreen Tube TV made that I know of. Back then a Tube TV picture was much better and cheaper than Flat Panel.

First Impression - This TV looks nice. Clean front. It is extremely light. The base feels sturdy and big enough to support the TV without risk of falling over. It was simple to put together with 8 screws in the base.

Setup - It has 2 HDMI's and then some regular RCA and Component hookups. My setup consists of Verizon FIOS Cable Box and a WD Live TV Media Player (to be replaced by a Boxee Box within the week, but that's another story). Plugged the Cable Box and the Media Player into each HDMI port using new Amazon Basics HDMI cables. The TV on-screen setup was easy enough to figure out without pulling out the instruction manual. Everything came up perfectly the first time with just a press of the Source button.
